Slowly handcrafted solid wood disc for use with a vintage Speedweve loom.
 
For those who've discovered an original Speedweve loom, but sadly over the years the original disk has gone astray and cannot be found!
 
Made to fit any of the following circa 1940s/1950s Speedweve looms:
Model 1 (10-Hook) with side rocker mechanism
Model 2 (10-Hook) with exposed hook chain
Model 2 (14-Hook) with exposed hook chain

This beautiful disc would also be perfect to use as a darning disc for times when you need a flat one as opposed to a disc with a domed/curved top.
 
It has a nice organic smooth surface and natural wood finish (i.e. no varnish or oil has been applied).
 
Each one is made with care by us in our Cornish (U.K.) workshop using locally-sourced timber. Our current batch have been created using London Plane/Lacewood timber sourced from a beautiful walled garden in Sidmouth, Devon U.K - this was a windfallen tree that sadly came down in a storm in Dec 2022.
